Very useful article. It would be more handy if you add a picture for each model.(viz. this link contains pictures of WNR3500L and WNR3500Lv2)

After spending an hour researching the variants of the Netgear WNR3500 family and their specs prior to a purchase, I realised this would he handy to post up somewhere. So, I thought I'd table it up and share it, since there wasn't a concise guide anywhere on the web already. Hopefully this will help some people out!

Good idea.
I added the pics to the article.
I'm confused, I just ordered a New WNR3500L from Amazon 2 days ago, got it today and it appears to be a v1 (not identical to the first picture, doesn't show RangeMax logo); why would this be? I thought Amazon had been shipping v2s for several months now.

I have made two orders from Amazon this month (April 2012) using web pages for a 'WNR3500L'. The first order resulted in a version 1 unit. I used the following Amazon page for the second order and received a version 2 unit:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RYYZZS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Buried in the details of that web page it states that it is a WNR3500Lv2. (I used a different Amazon webpage for the first order.) Both web pages mentioned "WNR3500L' in the title/heading and neither indicated a version (in the title).
It appears to me that Amazon (and most all of my local retailers) are still working through their stock of version 1 units.
Thanks benryanau for the great article!
In the last month I've purchased a WNR3500L (version 1) mistakenly, and a WNVR3500Lv2 which is what I wanted. The packaging is almost identical except for the mention of 128MB RAM & Flash, and the mention of 'WNR3500Lv2' under Package Contents on the box end-flap.
You may want to add a mention of the packaging difference to your article, to help folks differentiate them while still sealed in a box on a retail shelf.
I've sent you a private message about obtaining some highlighted jpegs of the box differences if you are interested.
This is confusing to me. The 3500L v1, under the model column lists it as N300. But the image of the back does not have that marking. The image for the v2 3500L does, however, have this marking indicating IT is the N300. Are they both N300 the same way they are both 3500L?
Don't worry bout the N300 too much. They're both "N300". It's referring to 802.11n 300mbps. The v1 doesn't have it written on the router, but it's splashed about on the product packaging.
Does the WNR3500L v2 come only 2 antennas? Or is that a type in the comparison chart?
