Welcome to MyOpenRouter.com, the official community site for NETGEAR's KWGR614 Open Source router and the open source initiatives build on its open wireless networking platform. NETGEAR's open source router and other related products are featured here in articles, blogs, and forums - with an emphasis on giving you the information you need to use these valuable tools effectively and interact with others using them.
For many of you, the look and feel of this site will be different from anything you've ever experienced before. MyOpenRouter's community isn't some off-the-shelf, pre-packaged site like so many others that have sprung up across the web over the years. We at MyOpenRouter.com felt that a community should include more than just run-of-the-mill forums accompanied by a blog or two.
Sure, we could have taken the easy way out, packaging this site with the same old software that everyone else uses. But then nothing would be seamless. The term "community" would be replaced by "another newsgroup" or "another forum." Then we'd be just like any other sites, and that will never do because "average" is not in our vocabulary.
MyOpenRouter.com is built on top of a brand new type of community platform, custom designed to offer YOU the best possibly experience, while seamlessly integrating all the pieces a community should have. Blogs. forums. great reviews, articles, and tips. Powerful tools that make being a member of an online community take on a whole new meaning.
This is what a community is supposed to be like, and it gets better every day.
Of course, we also understand that anything different from the norm takes a little getting used to, so we thought it would make sense to help point out a few ways to get started in out in the new community.
Get Started Today!
If you haven't yet already signed up, you'll need to become a member. Joining MyOpenRouter's online community is quick and FREE. Browsing the site doesn't compare to the enjoyment you'll get from interacting with a bustling community.
The next thing you should do is fill out your MyOpenRouter user profile. A community filled with just a bunch of screen names is about as much fun as a Star Wars convention without Wookies. In your profile, you can add a picture of yourself (or something that represents you) and it'll appear next to every comment or article you post. You should also add a few lines about yourself in the bio box. There's more, but we'll let you discover the rest for yourself.
Once you've taken care of your profile, you're all set to interact with the community. How can you do this? Find an article that interested you and throw in your two cents in an article's discussion thread. Or, mosey on in to the Community Forums and introduce yourself. Find a discussion that perks your interest and join in, or start a whole new discussion thread of your very own. Whichever you choose, you're bound to meet some friendly folks, share your opinion, and maybe learn a thing or two while you're at it!
Welcome to MyOpenRouter.com! We hope you have a great time, and come back to visit again soon!
