Netgear Digital Entertainer HD Wins 2008 PC WORLD 25 Most Innovative Products Award

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - January 8, 2008

NETGEAR, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR), a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking solutions, today announced that the NETGEAR Digital Entertainer HD (EVA8000) was honored by PC World magazine with a 2008 PC World 25 Most Innovative Products Award. The winners were announced on December 28, 2007 on www.pcworld.com and will also be featured in the February 2008 issue of PC World. The award marks the second year in a row that a NETGEAR product has received a top 10 ranking by PC World. Last year, the NETGEAR ReadyNAS NV+ was named number eight in PC World’s “100 Best Products of 2007 Awards.”

Ranked number six in the list of PC World’s 25 Most Innovative Products, the NETGEAR Digital Entertainer HD was selected from among hundreds of products in the award program which recognizes both benchmark and breakthrough products that set the standard for innovation with unique qualities that distinguish them from the pack. PC World selected the EVA8000 for being the only streaming-media device that can play protected files in both iTunes and Windows Media formats and also praised its ability to handle 1080p HD video. “NETGEAR’s Internet media player, the NETGEAR Digital Entertainer HD EVA8000 ($400) busts through the DRM (digital rights management) wall, and even allows you to check your e-mail and watch YouTube videos on your television,” stated the article. “It makes life easier in a multiple-DRM world.”
