Description:

NETGEAR WGR614L Wireless-G Open Source Router firmware update v1.1.2_1.0.23

Instructions, bug fixes, and known issues associated with the latest firmware update for the WGR614L open source router. Post questions and concerns about this update to the firmware/drivers forum on MyOpenRouter.

NOTE: This firmware update is for use in North America Only

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the firmware file to a convenient place such as your desktop.
  2. Unzip the file. Native firmware file has extension .CHK
  3. Open a Web browser.
  4. Access the router (http://192.168.1.1 or the Default Gateway address if the router's default IP was changed).
  5. Log in the router (User Name = admin and Password = password, unless you changed it).
  6. Write down all settings that you entered when previously configuring. (Usually this includes information such as ISP configuration and wireless security settings.)
  7. Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade.
  8. Click Browse and locate the firmware upgrade file.
  9. Click Upload.
  10. Wait for the router to reboot.
  11. Under Maintenance, click Settings Backup, then click Erase. (Or press the reset button on the back for 10 seconds.)
  12. Wait one minute for the router to reboot.
  13. Manually enter the configuration information you wrote down in Step 4.

Known Issues

  1. DoS Logs: Some normal packets would be treated as DoS attacks. Users would see some DoS logs for non-attack packets, but the normal function won’t be affected.
  2. The latest FVS114 VPN server and client connection cannot pass through the router.
