I've been using the Test Beta06u.02 version for a few days and it's been working smoothly.
Not noticed anything weird, can share my usb disk without any problems and use wpa2/aes.
Had to reset the router after uploading the firmware (gave it a good 5 minutes to complete the upload).

Just Flashed beta7 here - no issues yet..

I'm planning on flashing this to my WNR3500L, uscallesen did you do the hard reset 30/30/30 before and after flashing or not? This'll be my first upgrade from the stock firmware and I don't want to mess anything up. Thanks!

Yeah I did the 30/30/30 - I believe this is critical with netgear - I work with Netgear Cable modems (also linux based) as part of my job - and we've seen several cases where a hard reset was needed to clear old config.

I did it before flashing the dd-wrt initial flash file and before/after flashing the Tomato file.

Thanks! I got this flashed successfully last night after first putting on DD-WRT mini. Initially after flashing DD-WRT it wouldn't let me flash any *.chk, *.bin, or *.trx (I got Incorrect image file errors) and I was really worried. After a couple of hard resets I was able to put DD-WRT mega on there without any issue (just to see if it would accept any new firmware). Once that worked I aimed my sights to Tomato and simply renamed the .trx to .bin (and this I was hesitant about as well because I wasn't sure if I needed any special converter). This worked, and my next problem was actually logging into the router because "root"/"password" didn't work. After a quick search on the official Tomato page I found that the firmware credentials were "root"/"admin". And now I have Tomato!

The latest firmware 07 seems to be working well. However, the orange power button is really annoying. In the original netgear firmware it is green.

I think it's best to wait until the orange power LED issue is fixed.

Why ?? it makes no functional difference what so ever!

@uscallesen
I know but it is extremely annoying.

beta07 working great here too.
Have it now for a week or so (whenever it came out) and stable so far, no need to restart it.
I changed the original firmware for tomato very quickly so I didn't even noticed that the LED was orange (or what it supposed to be). If it's only the color that's not good then I don't care that much as long as it is stable.

That's true too but I expected the issue will be fixed sooner. Now I think we will have to live with it because it isn't a priority unfortunately.

@mutant, it's being worked on. Tathagata Das replied to my post in this thread: "Most probably. But I need to add that patch and test LED. There after I can confirm."
