I tried the new firmware above and it bricked my router.

This download has been updated with a newer version (beta 10) which should work fine on the WNR3500L.

Been running on my WNR3500L without issues for past 4 days, upgraded from previous version without flashing first, no problems

I am about to do the tomato to my WNR3500L how do I know which version I have before I do it wrong?
IS there and easy "Unbrick" just-in-case?

This is a good article to reference for easy debricking instructions - you'll need a USB-TTL cable though, it's indispensable if you plan on experimenting with firmware!
