i was reading the how-to for the samba setup because i was having problems until i realized that samba was built in to this build...  anyways that is all fixed...  my computers see me drive.  But which partition is it showing? and can I just make one big partition?

also is it necessary to move the jffs to the usb?

Thanks

Hi diablc,

the public share option in this build by default shares the /jffs directory. By using Custom config you can share any directory you specify, see questions and answers in the download section.

Usinf /jffs mountpoint is not neccessary as well as using JFFS filestructure.
A single partition is the easiest way.

Is there anyway to add more users so i can give one user access to one directory and another user access to another directory. Really need to make sure some users or groups cannot see other directories.
Thanks!

Hi kirkbarnett,

the dd-wrt webinterface has checkboxes to add 2 users+passwords, but you can use "Administration->Commands->Save Startup" to add more user/password combos, e.g.:

echo "anotheruser:*:1002:1002:anotheruser:/var:/bin/false" >> /etc/passwd
smbpasswd anotheruser anotheruserspass

This way you can add as many users as needed.
