will minidlna have any problems with 2tb of movies?
also how well will it work with windows media player and my wdtv box
miniDLNA?

It's rather the number of media files that can be cause probs, not the total size.
Media Player and WDTV Box should work.

sorry have been gone for a while I have 8,010 Videos and counting do you think it will cause problems? I have Put off buying an expensive n router + usb because i don't know if they can handle that many files still using an old wrt54g
would buying a cheap N Router and building a media server out of an old computer be a better idea ?

Hi JustinB,
I have added an option to the webif setup page in order to tell minidlna to save its index db on an external media and not in ram anymore, this way you can have an "unlimited" number of media files.
8000+ are no problem if the db is kept on the external media.
