Can someone Help me with this:

How can i mount a nfs or cifs share with this Build? mount.cifs or smbmount don´t work. I even installed Optware and SlimSamba2 but i can´t find the tools to mount a network share.

and i also wonder, my Samsung TV sees my MKV files but can´t play them.

if i run miniDLNA from http://www.myopenrouter.com/download/21013/MiniDLNA-for-WNR3500L-static-versi...

i can play them just fine.

i thought first this is because of the strict_dlna=yes in the minidlna.conf but after killing minidlna, changing conf and restarting it, it still didn´t work.

thanks in advance,

Tobias

This build does not support mounting of external network shares, just doesn't fit it the fw anymore.

I'll test and see if there are any issues with mkv format.

yeah i know, but can i somehow load the necessary tools from optware or something like that. I think the problem with mkvs is related to Samsung TVs, though they support mkv and as i wrote, it works with an other version of the miniDLNA server.

I would strongly suggest you to take a look at SamyGo, http://samygo.sourceforge.net/. DNLA just doesn't work!

I've had real sweat with original Samsung firmware playing .mp4 / .mkv over different DNLA but I must say that SamyGO was a life saver... You can, for example, connect to a samba share (in my case, USB attached to WNR3500L), and it will play every file formats your TV's supposed to (not the way more stricter DNLA support). I, however, had to revert back to old TV firmware because Samsung had disabled ability to run programs from USB but that was actually really easy. And if you follow the fully automatic way, you just can't brick your TV.

The thing you're looking for is Samsung Extensions Pack, http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/samygo/index.php?title=SamyGO_Extensions_Pack, (I have it in USB pen drive attached to TV, and all I have to do is go to my TV's content mananager -> USB -> SamyGO and then to Media Play -> Samba Server -> pick any file from the server... Voila!)

I have compiled a new image yesterday with stripped down ffmpeg, just have to test if minidlna works at with my media client, if that does there is going to be some more space available to squeeze in a few more features:-)

I'm also preparing a cool new feature for the vpn edition, adblocking directly on the router.
