I don't understand what to download. I've been reading for many hours on DD-WRT and Tomato, and I feel like I've learned nothing; it's so damn confusing.

Wanted to be able to Write to a USB NTFS drive, and have FTP etc. The "(std)" doesnt' mention USB, does it not have USB support? What is "(ext)" for?

Also was hoping to have it set up as a wireless (repeater) bridge.

I see multiple versions for Tomato, TomatoUSB, and a whole bunch of others...

Nothing seems straight-forward and it's pretty intimidating going through all the endless (what seems to be) scattered documentation, with all these different options and builds.

#tomato on freenode seems dead too...

Could anyone recommend a version to download?

it may sound simple but you are asking for some pretty complicated stuff

if you plan to use the USB then... you need the tomato wtih usb mod :)
from what I understand it's not that you can't run NTFS, it will just be very slow
no way around this I think, just run Fat32, bro, you gonna live, it has to to do with CPU usage, not your connection or anything

as for turning your router into a repeater, not sure if it's possible with this router hardware, someone else might know though

I can't seem to install the Tomato firmware, the extension ends in "*.trx" and my WNR3500L is looking for a "*.chk". Am I downloading the wrong version?
