Hey Kong... I just installed your 06/08/11 version, the one that includes OpenVPN.
I have a VPN appliance that runs on OpenVPN through port 1194. Connecting it to any "normal"router, it can communicate succesfully and reach its destination (one of my business clients). It acts as a server.
Even if I plug it into my DD-WRT enabled Netgear WNR3500L, my vpn appliance can communicate alright. However, if I use the DD-WRT (any version) in order to get a remote server's public address for my network (through the service of StrongVPN), my VPN appliance gets blocked!
It's in the same subnet, the DD-WRT firewall is disabled, the StrongVPN service runs in a different port (not 1194) on a dev tun (my VPN device is dev tap)... and still my VPN device gets blocked.
Both run on UDP.
All I'm trying to achieve is for my VPN appliance to show an origin IP address coming from the StrongVPN servers, so a different location. I have asked many people knowledgeable in networking, as well as in the forums at OpenVPN.net, DD-WRT.com, myopenrouter.com...
The StrongVPN people doubt if it can even be done ("That's a tunnel inside another tunnel... hardly possible", they say)
So far, almost no answers. It gives me the impression people don't have a clue about this. Do you?
Any ideas why my VPN appliance is being blocked by the StrongVPN own tunnel? (This is apparently what's hapenning)
Thanks a lot for any input.
