I recently installed the kong mod on my newly acquired E3000. Everything works great, but when I try to copy files from my PC(via Samba) to the USB drive, i get speeds of about 800-900k/s. There was one point of time when I saw 30mbps with the kong mod, but I am not able to replicate it.

I didn't do any configuration changes other than enabling Samba and MiniDLNA.

To install, I followed all 18 steps from the Wiki here:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E3000

And when all the steps were completed, I flashed it with the kong mod.

This is what I have currently:

Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/07/11) stdkong

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Hmmmm,

what kind of usb drive do you have attached? Some no name usb pen drive?
At the time you transfered files you were connected through ethernet, not wireless?

It was a Western Digital NTFS formatted 200GB powered hard drive. I tried it both from an ethernet connected desktop and a wireless laptop with the same results.

Have you tried to do a full reset and configure only basic settings?

This either sounds like a configuration issue, e.g. wrong qos settings or some hardware fault.

The test I ran with the last build:

NTFS: ~1,0MB/s Read ~1,5MB/s Write
EXT2: ~5,0MB/s Read ~6,5MB/s Write

Thanks Kong. Did a full reset and formatted to FAT32 and now I get about 3MB/s writes. This is definitely better. Appreciate your response and thanks again for the awesome work with the firmware!
