I was operating an HP laptop with my R7000 router, with everything functioning normally. Recently the computer failed, and I replaced it with an ASUS F555UA. Operation is now normal except for one thing: the router accepted the factory default name of the machine (DESKTOP-xxxx), and when I changed the name to the one the former machine had, the default name refused to go away. The Attached Devices page still thinks the computer name is DESKTOP-xxxxx.
Other computers on the network can address it correctly by the new name, but some apps (such as Kaspersky) still see it as DESKTOP-xxxxx.
This has only happened on the wireless side; when I later hooked up a wired connection, the router recognized the new name.
Suggestions? Thanks...
