Hi all,

I have downloaded the tomato firmware from this site. WPA-PASK and WPA2-PSK is not working in this firmware. I have downloaded the code also like to debug this problem. Can anybody please inform me where to start with?

The problem lies in the wlconf tool. wlconf can not set the psk to the driver successfully. This ioctl returns -1. The wlconf source is located in the 'src/router/wlconf' directory. check the wlconf routine in wlconf.c.

Thanks for the quick reply. Things are not still very clear to me. Can you please elaborate the mechanism.

when you save any configuration from UI, cgi sets different nvram attributes according to the value you changed and starts the wlconf tool. This tool reads the values from nvram and set those info to the wireless driver.
In our case nvram is getting updated properly but the wlconf fails to set the PSK value to the driver. That's why the AP is behaving as a non secured one.

no, i've stopped caring, I am selling my router due to no support available for tomato at all, ie internet does not work, wpa does not work, ssh does not work and no-one on the forum has helped at all to try and get it working. not very happy with the device either, the wireless signal strength is terrible and the fact you have to solder things to get a bricked router (which happens very easily) is not very enticing.

Should have gone with linksys

Are you able to adjust the signal strength effectively? as the signal strength on netgear is PATHETIC! = 5M. Does everything work? Can you create a PPPOE connection from the router and the internet actually works? Can you ssh into the router?

if so then please provide me with step by step instructions on how to get ddwrt on this router, without bricking, currently running netgear firmware and NOTE this is the EU router. So not all firmware applies

and this will work on the EU routers?

I'm really sceptical. i have a working router right now that I can sell, if i brick this due to incorrect firmware i'm screwed. it's a very expensive router in my country

Unfortunately I have NA version ..so can't confirm this..... I  think it should otherwise we would have two builds available here ..one for EU and one for NA version ....

to be honest guys, i've actually already been burned and really cannot afford to end up with a bricked router that has no warranty. I appreciate that you guys have been helping today, this is the most, if any, response I have had from many many posts I have made on this forum in 2 months. And it's actually for those reasons I am just going to sell this router as is, with a working netgear firmware.

thanks anyways, good luck
