The existing email notification for content related stuff (available in various Netgear routers) is fine for those who want that.  I don't happen to care about it, but it's not skin off my nose. 

I'd be interested in piggybacking on top of that to get notification of network events.  My primary interest is in various kinds of attacks from the WAN side, but it might also be nice to occasionally get notification streams when devices (particularly WIFI) attached/detached, etc.
