I updated a brand new 614L (614 v8) to DD-WRT. I started changing some settings on the basic setup and now I cannot access the web admin. Just prior to this I had changed the DHCP ranges and size, etc. to lock down the router a bit. My network settings report that I am getting an IP address from the router (192.168.1.10) and that the router (gateway) is 192.168.1.1. But I still am not able to connect using the web admin.

Is this bricked? I have a hard time believing that it is bricked after a successful update of the firmware and minor tinkering with DHCP. Anyone seen anything like this?

Can you ping the router? Can you still get to the internet through it? (ie is it just a problem connecting to the router's web server?).

Have you tried rebooting the router since the problem occurred?

It's odd since my network setup shows it is the gateway at 192.168.1.1 - so DHCP appears to work but I can't ping that address. I haven't actually hooked it up to my internet connection because I was just setting it up - I have it connected to my box only.

I just got the thing 2 days ago and I really don't want to open it up to fix this.

responding to myself due to radio silence:

I've found that I can connect to the DD-WRT web GUI through wireless. For some reason I cannot via ethernet. Both my wireless interface and my wired interface have valid IP's issued by the router's DHCP server. Both show the proper gateway. But if I disable the wireless interface I cannot connect to the web gui. It's very strange. We really need an updated version of dd-wrt for this router.
