So, I have bricked my router with the newest DD-WRT firmware posted on this site. Maybe I was in bad luck (because I flashed it successfully with tomato and MRO several times before.) The POWER LED of the router does not blink at all so I don't think that I can debrick it with TFTP. The router has solid POWER and CHECK lights solid and whichever port I connect my LAN cable to solid.

I wonder if I could use my serial port on my laptop which is a Dell D610 to connect the JTAG or the USB to serial 3.3Volts cable is strictly needed, because I will have to order it and wait for weeks to begin using my router which is a little bit silly.

Thanks.

So, I went ahead and tried to connect the JTAG pins with my laptop. Something was going on but they were all garbages (not readable characters) on my terminal. I tried with several different computers. So is that a sign to indicate my voltage rating is not correct?

You need to have the serial to USB cable operating at 3.3 volt. Please do not try any other cable except the one specified in http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/10341/Recover-Your-WGR614L-Using-a-Serial... - this may brick your router..

That's not exactly true - you can use a serial level shifter too based on MAX3221.
