I have a Netgear WGR614 v8 and I was able to load Tomato 1.11.0018 on it.

All in all, it works but has some quirks.  As such I've tried upgrading to the latest available verision without success.  For starters, the web upgrade starts with this complaint when I try to upload  "tomato-wgr614l-1.11.41512-lzma.chk":

Expecting a ".bin" or ".trx" file

If I rename the file to .bin prior to upload, it accepts it but fails with:

   File contains an invalid header
Please wait while the router reboots...

The same happens for the latest Netgear firmware "wgr614v8_1_1_11_6_0_36_na.chk".

What am I doing wrong?  How do I upgrade Tomato or revert to the Netgear firmware?

Thanks Axelabs, for posting this issue. This issue was solved in the 1.11.041510 version of Tomato. But probably the Europian version does not contain this fix. I will check this issue and will let you know...

Axe labs I am about to post an utility to erase your existing kernel. If you run this utility susing ssh and reboot the router, the router will be in TFTP listen state and you then can load any of your desired firmware using tftp without having serial console. Please stay tuned - I will let you know...

Souvik, the tool worked like a charm! I'm running the latest version of Tomato now.

Much thanks!

Did you install the latest version of Tomato available on polarcloud or is it a modified version. Any issues with it?
