Ok i tried to update my router to the newest dd-wrt. I am stuck at a certain point though. I went through all the steps(i do not have a serial cord) using erase_mtd way of doing it. Now i am at the point where i must tftp the dd-wrt to the router, but i keep getting the cannot find host error. I have setup the ip on my computer to

ip:192.168.1.1xx

subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

gateway: 192.168.1.1

Preferred DNS: 192.168.1.1

I have tried this multiple times, but yet i am still unable to ping my router. I have the router plugged in the lan port 1. I have tried using other ports too.  I also have 2 lan ports on my computer. I have tried using both of them switching back and forth but no luck. Do i have have something setup wrong?  When i have the router plugged in the power light is blinking so im assuming its in tftp mode.  I dont know what i am doing wrong.  I have tried to ping the router also, but get no response.  Thanks for any help

reboot the router again and wait for booting it up. Then i think you will get the ping.
