I have successfully add a new application to the WGR614 firmware. However, in the last step, I got the information: "The image size is over 4Mbytes!!". My application is about 20Mbytes. I am doubting whether is image size limit could be changed to build the firmware? Where to change it? And is the hardware code size for the image in WGR614 router only 4Mbytes?

WGR614L has 4Mbytes flash and out of which 128k is consumed by the bootloader. So available memory for any firmware is 4MB - 128KB. Again NVRAM uses last block of the memory which is 64K.
Usually this available size is enough for all firmware (like tomato, openwrt, dd-wrt) for WGR614L. I think you have not stripped your application. If it is already stripped then I am afraid that you can not put in flash.
By the way which application you are trying to add?

Yes, you are right. I haven't strip my application yet. After I stripped it, I tried to keep the total size to be less than 4Mbytes. I am adding Bro IDS into the firmware. Now I am doing the last step of loading it into the hardware.

Keep in mind that your firmware should be less that the size that I mentioned earlier. Otherwise you may face some unconventional behavior.
