Over at dd-wrt the tjtagv3-rc1.zip program has been removed. Following the forum thread:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22655&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=780
Mr. Tornado says that there are issues with RC1 and thus he removed it. I was wondering if anybody here has a copy of RC1 and was willing to pm me the program so I can clean out my bricked router.
Thanks....Hi,

I think it would be better if you can give us the instruction set for tjtagv3.
I dont remember the instructions completely but running ./tjtag --help show all possibe commands and their purposes ....
Also you can have a look at the following article :
http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/10951/How-To-Use-A-JTAG-Cable-To-Recover-...
It contains a detailed descrption of how to use jtag commands ....
Thanks to Achilles for sending me a copy.
I bought this cable: http://www.diygadget.com/jtag-cables/jtag-cable-for-wireless-routers.html
Using tjtag is returning all ones for the CPU id. So, I decided to check my soldering on the board, which looks good, and then I checked the cable. I took apart the DB25 connector and discovered that it is wired up inverse from all the wiring diagrams online. Appears that instead of pin #1 on the right top row of the DB25 connector, pin #1 is on the left side top row. This is not correct. Thus, it appears that the cable I bought is not built correct based on their own documentation. I emailed the company about this because I can't believe I would be the first to discover this.
I will come up with something to fix my cable problems in the next day or two. Once I have a working cable I will post what instructions I use as I go along.
I followed this guide to serial cable for my router and it works INCREDIBLY smooth, and cleanup is a snap now.

Hi Trimble,
I was using the serial cable method myself until I went from Tomato 1.25, after I could not get DHCP to the IPS to work, to OpenWrt and that seems to have killed my router. Serial console would not come up anymore. Nothing at all. That is why I am perusing the jtag route.
My update on jtag is not good so far. I contacted Tornado over at dd-wrt and I got a copy of his latest tjtagv3 and it works better than the previous version 3. With some tin foil shielding wrapped around my jtag cable I can access the board consistently. However, the CFE.BIN image is not writing correctly to the flash chip. When power cycled, the serial console comes up with a crc error and system halting.
Also, when performing a -backup:cfe the result never matches the image I flashed. For example, the backup has huge numbers of zeros in it. I was thinking I have something wrong with the cable, but the processor ID always reads correctly. Thus, I believe the cable is correct.
I tried all the options I can think of. /bypass, /st5, /noreset, /noerase, and /noewm and all the same results.
Anybody have any ideas?
Seems that my router might be unrecoverable if the cable is working. :(
I have released tjtag 3.0.1, and have tested this again on the 614v8 with no problems, however, I always backup or flash from a power off, then power on using
/noreset
-backup:cfe /noreset
-flash:cfe /noreset
there are two additional switches for the 614v8 and 614v9, used with backup and flash.
WGRV9NVRAM
WGRV9BDATA
WGRV8BDATA
for instance -backup:WGRV9BDATA
etc... you need to back this up, its your board data.
P.S. I forgot an important note, you must back these up these routers with /swap_endian or you will have to use a swap utility after, before you flash it back on.
Let me know if you have problems and I will try to help...
hi zorg ,
