Hi everybody,

I found in my cave a Netgear DG814 router,

I would like to install an open firware like the dd-wrt.

I already have a WRT54G with a dd-wrt firmware and i like all the fonctionality offered with this firmware.

So i would like to change the original firmware of my DG814 to have more fonctionality (such as vlan, ssh and many other)

Do you kinow if it exist for this router ?

And where could i find that?

Thanks for your help, and sorry for my bad english.Embarassed

First of all you should find out whether this DG814 router is an open source router or not. I guess which is not. Most probably DG834 is an open source. Again I can not confirm that.
If it not an open source router then it is very difficult to port other firmware onto this router.
If it is indeed an open source router then download original source code and port that into DD-WRT source code.

You can also ask DD-WRT developers whether they support this router or not.

If you look at the following link :
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

You will find that your device is not supported by DD-WRT so if u want to run DD-WRT on it ... you will need to port DD-WRT for your router ...
