My linksys befsx41 router is now a brick after an unsuccessful flash. I am not real tech savy, had a hard time following the directions to set us this last router.  I am running win7, snow leopard, and ubuntu 9.07 on different hard drives and using a sata switch.  I am interested in setting up a server in addition to the above.  I have not found any great router until I saw the wrn3500l seems like a solution at a fairly low cost.  I was considering a cisco 5500 series but it sounds too complicated and like you need a certified tech to install it.  I want to set the router up once and basically forget about it.  I was thinking a second computer with an open source firewall was the way to go.

Can anyone give me some help and guidance here?

Thanks,

mick
