I am new to this so pardon the basic question.  I have one pc connected to a  cable modem.   I would like to add a router to connect a laptop and possibly a Ipod touch.  Both will be wireless.  If I do online banking or financial on only the pc ,will the uploaded info get into the wireless system ? I am thinking about a Linksys or netgear router.

Thanks in advance

If you have your computer connected to the router using a cable (as opposed to using wireless), then no. The information will be transferred by the router directly to the cable modem and over the insecure Internet to your bank. The data will not "leak out" in the wireless.

Thanks for the reply. That answers my question. The communication I have with the bank will be as secure (or insecure?) as it was before I connected the router but at least I won't be adding the extra insecurity of broadcasting it over the wireless media.
