I have Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/07/09) std-usb-ftp 13401M on my box.

I have also usb stick on usage with optware.

I tryed to enable swap using this guide http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linux_SWAP" class="linkification-ext">http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linux_SWAP but i'm getting "swapon - function not implemented".

Even it has 64mb ram but it can easily end if you run programs from that optware and it will crash, so it would be important to get that swap to work.

I am in the same Problem. I tried to get an answer on ddwrt forum:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=64665
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=64665

What currently I know:
Swap is not supported.

Opened ticket to dd-wrt trac system. Go bug them and request swap feature so we would get it.

Try installing Optware : http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Optware%2C_the_Right_Way

Then you will be able to create a swap with /opt/sbin/swapon

Let us know if it works !

I did try it but its say swap is not supported, means that kernel what dd-wrt has inside hasn't been compiled with swap support. What SVN version you are using?

January 20, 2010 4:53 AM

I didn't try it.
I thought you were trying /bin/busybox swapon.

I tried both, getting same error message. They need fix swap support to kernel, i could do it itself but i have no JTAG cable and i don't reallt trust dd-wrt what is compiled by myself :P
