Before I start to place a header on the serial points, I noticed that the router is asking for a tftp of vmlinuz on 192.168.1.2 since it is 192.168.1.1

Is there a vmlinuz file to feed it with a version of the code needed ?

Just ignore the vmlinuz and the .2 deal.
Did it go to the CFE> prompt or just what are you trying to do?

With the bricked router, serial cable, but no header (yet), I noticed that for a few seconds the router will ping on 1.1 and is asking for vmlinuz (tftp) from 1.2 ?!

The 30/30/30 does not seem to help, so I was wondering if there was a 'vmlinuz' to feed it to 3500L so that it will get to a state that can be used.

vmlinuz is usually the linux file only. You get ping response when bootloader is booting. It tries to get the vmlinuz file from remote machine through tftp. If it fails then it will load image from its flash.
You can put your vmlinuz file and give a try.

What is desired here is a version of vmlinuz that the bricked router can use to pull in and operate when in a bricked setting (my 3500L has no header for the serial port). I have seen the 192.168.1.1 pull in vmlinuz from 192.168.1.2 (my PC) but I need a copy of vmlinuz that represents the .bin or .chk file to execute.

I gave it a vmlinuz but it was not one the router was able to use.
