Hi,

Today, i powered up a brand new router for wnr3500l.

I was able to open the web interface of the router using http://192.168.1.1

However i was unable to connect to using "telnet 192.168.1.1"

the telnet client never succeeds in connecting to the telnet daemaon on the router.

does anyone know how to check the telnet daemon is enabled on the wnr3500l routr?

Thanks in advance...

Should be able to get it. Maybe a hard reset will help? If not maybe try to SSH in at port 22.

Same problem here with the original firmware. But I didn't find any place talking about telnet support on original firmware

We can get telnet access to WNR3500l by executing enable utiltiy.

Original Netgear Firmware does not support telnet. Open soorce firmwares like DD-WRT, Open-WRT, Tomato support telnet.

It also does not support ssh. However you can add those support during compile time.

You might just want to get the DD-WRT or Tomato firmware.  They have SSH abilities built-in.

I know, but I want to learn realizing this in the original firmware, so I'm asking in this topic
