Hello.

i have flashed my WNR3500L with the DD-WRT Firmware.  But now i want to restore the original netgear Firmware.

When i slect it in the WebGui it says wrong file. I also changed the ending from chk to bin and tried. but upgrade fail again.

Is there a solution for it ?

Best regards

dodo

Same problem here too. I don't know how to do this. For the WRT54G there is a VxWorks firmware which could do this. I have no idea if the 3500L supports this.

Look at this thread. It helped me when I reverted back to the stock firmware.

That's the best single article on this site. Saved me a few times with bad dd-wrt.

Thnx, it worked. It was quite simple. I used the post of pen:

- '/sbin/mtd erase linux' in a telnet session (It's part of dd-wrt)
- Reboot the router
- 'tftp -i 192.168.1.1 PUT code.chk' from windows
- Reboot the router
- Factory reset by pressing button on back of router to get default user/password

worked like a charm. I still think the router sucks.. too bad.

Kevin,  Glad it helped. But with the new Tomato beta that is out there I am loving the easy way it lets you share files via the USB drive. I have switched to it just because of it. Article to come soon.

Great. If it works well I'll give Tomato a try. Still a newbie at dd-wrt.

I have to revise my opinion on the router. I've succesfully installed tomato 1.27 beta03, which works great!

The download contains a trx file, which can be installed from the dd-wrt initial flash firmware. Therefore you have to rename the .trx file to .bin. After that, everything works fine :D. I simply love tomato!
