Hi!

I am thinking about installing Ajaxplorer Web file Management on my WNR3500L Router.  It's processor should by fast enough. My connected 1,5 TB  USB harddisk works fine on it.

Ajaxplorer is also a part of NAS-solutions e.g. QNAP or Synology, therefor i am thinking about this.

Does someone know is this is possible to install. Maybe with an ipkg  package? Which Firmware would be best?

Did you read: http://www.ajaxplorer.info/wordpress/documentation/chapter-introduction/

It requires a Webserver+PHP while it is possible, it will be difficult and it will suck up the routers ressources:-)

Why don't you want to use WinSCP?

Oh, may be you are right.
The CPU should be fast enough, but the RAM...

I am currently using samba, but it would be interesting if it is possible, or not.

Thank you.

You can give it a try, won't harm. What you need to do is connect some external storage to the usb port, add at least one partition formatted with ext3. Then activate jffs set the moint point to /jffs after that you will be able to use ipkg to install apache and php.

After that you need to edit the configs/init scripts of apache/php in /jffs dir.
If that is done you can try to start apache and see if it works, I noticed that not all packages fetched by ipkg work, since I haven't tested apache, php I can't tell that these packages work

Thank you for your answer.
I have limited knowlegde about these things, but i can follow instructions :-)
I will use an USB-Stick with EXT3.

Currently i have Tomato running, but i will try to install it with DD-WRT.
