New versions of DD-WRT for WNR3500L are now available, courtesy of nukie.

http://www.myopenrouter.com/download/18451/DD-WRT-for-WNR3500L-v24-K2.6-BIG-1... (For upgrade from previous DD-WRT install)

http://www.myopenrouter.com/download/18450/DD-WRT-for-WNR3500L-v24-K2.6-Mini-... (For upgrade from standard NETGEAR firmware)

Have you tested out this firmware yet? If so, how do you like it so far? Any issues that the community should be aware of?

I am not sure about how it is on the WNR3500L however on the WGR614L and WNDR3300 you can only use the mini version, from what i have read though it affects all netgear routers, i do not own a wnr3500L therefore do not know. for now i have stuck with BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2_02-23-10-r13972 which is fine, i can still use the std-nokaid with 13972, also from what i understand now eko also has released a 'fix' for netgear routers so that they can use std, std-nokaid, big etc. should i try it i will let you know how it is as well as post links to get it, cheers

Hi all

I noticed that there are over 300 downloads but no feedback from anyone. Just wanted to say that i am running 14144 since a couple of days and has no problems what so ever. I do not use USB or any other complicated settings, but so far with standard things its rock solid. Before this i used 13832 without problems.

Great reading before you upgrade: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=51486 Netgear 3500L Tomato beta 22 and 3x Fonera 2100 Gargoyle 1.3.5

If you don't mind me asking, which netgear are you using it on? WNR3500L? If so then you are using the K2.6 build?

So i am guessing the problem is only with NEWD (2.4 builds) and not with NEWD-2 (k2.6 builds) as far as the std-nokaid not being able to fit on the WGR614L and WNDR3300, I am gonna try eko's build and see if that fixes it tonight, i'll prolly start a new thread for this with download links if it works fine. Thanks for reply. buddee

BrainSlayer's versions of DD-WRT for WNR3500L are now available

Could you stop differentiating BrainSlayer and eko?
You are confusing people.

@Csimbi - Thank you for the clarification - I was unaware that they worked on the projects together!

Hi Peter,
most people - especially those who do not find that message - believe that.
Hence my concern.
If we could avoid identifying those as different releases, we could avoid questions and misconceptions.
Thanks.

@Csimbi I agree with you. I have changed the download posts so that it only say dd-wrt. No point in confuse people.

@nukie - Thank you for editing your downloads. If there are any remaining edits that need to be done, I will be happy to make them - just let me know. I also edited this original post.

IMHO i am happy nukie posts it as BrainSlayer, I do know the difference and i test both for dd-wrt.com Its a very simple breakdown BrainSlayer releases generic builds, eko releases specialized builds, Brainslayer's 14144 NEWD std-nokaid WILL NOT FIT ON WGR614L or WNDR3300, eko's newest build 13972 std-nokaid will. These are facts people should know before stagediving into flashing their netgear router and thinking they have a brick cause 14144 wont fit. Food for thought.

buddee,
I agree it should be stated who compiled the new firmware when making a post. If only so it makes it easier to find all the different complied versions from the DD-WRT download site.
