Hi folks,

dd-wrt with samba3 is almost ready. Just a few hours ago I flashed my wnr3500l with my custom firmware that includes samba3. Right now it only comes with a basic setup that allows to switch samba on and off via webinterface. It provides one public readable/writable share that will share files once an external media is mounted to /jffs dir. It is also possible to supply a custom smb.conf.

It's not possible yet to enter user/password combinations. For now one would have to enter the password user commands in dd-wrt's command window in order to set them for each boot.

Since I haven't tried Tomato yet, I don't know how their samba setup page looks like. Can anyone provide me with a screenshot?

It shouldn't require a whole lot of work to add a few user/password fields to the webinterface.

P.S. Since I only have one wnr at hand, I double checked that I'm not going to brick my router:-) That's the reason why it took a while.

Hmmm it looks like you cannot add user/password combinations here. So I don't see the point of allowing a custom config without the chance to setup shares that allow certain people to connect or not.

Anyway since I think it is a must have feature I'll add a few user/password fields.
