Hi , i have recently installed

Tomato Firmware v1.27.9045 MIPSR2-beta11 K26 USB Ext

Ony my netgear router, everything has been fine, untill i notice that i get a time out from rapidshare.com after i download 2gb or so of data, i can not access it though firefox even with ssl.rapidshare.com.  After a day or two it is fine. i have extra traffic share with rapidshare so i havnt hit my limit.

i am using virgin media in the uk, when i connect the modem to the pc it works fine, so not the isp.

i have read on another forum that it might be the modem dos or something thinking the modem is being attacked with all the data. but i am a complete noob when it comes to routers - so not sure how to check.

I havnt changed many settings in the router , other than static ips...

any help, thank you

I've downloaded multi GB ISO images without problem. Does your problem only occur with rapidshare?

yes only with rapidshare. I have pulled 5bg down yesterday with no problem, which seems strange, i had no trouble from my isp with bandwith, they just throttle it and not cause it to time out. But when it happens, i cant even get onto rapidshares website, and all downloads timeout

Photobucket

Only an hour after saying it was fine, this happens, what can i show you in the way of config in tomato that might help?!

Does it have to be over 2GB per file, or over 2 GB total?

I'm on the same ISP, if I can (I don't have a premium account) I'm happy to see if I can duplicate your problem to see if it's VirginMedia that's the root cause.

I think the issue is not regarding to the router. It's may be the problem of rapid share server.

monday i pulled 6gb - all fine
tuesday 2.35gb then time out
wednesday 5gb then time out
thursday - nothing
friday 3gb - timeout / then reinstall tomato firmware, reset modem - now am able to download again.

when i can not access the website, using http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ it shows the servers are fine.

i have never had this problem with the standrd d link router (only changed as i needed gigabit router)
