I have 3500L router and newest Tomato. I also have dlink 1005D gigabit switch which is connected to router. I switch ON/OFF all the equipment with timer. Problem is that when router and switch power on, switch sometimes isnt detected. Router doesnt detect it.

I already tried different cable (i use cat6). I am using MTU 1500.

I have this issue from the beginning. What do you think? Switch problem or...?

With original Netgear firmware gigabit port is supported. However I have not used that newest Tomato firmware. If Ethernet driver in tomato firmware does not support GigE then it would have problem in detecting Gige switch.
There might be problem with switch also.
Better if you first upload original firmware and test GigE port with another GigE port in your PC/laptop. Then try with Tomato firmware with the same set up. Lastly test with switch. In this way you can figure out where is the problem.

it was switch problem. Apperantly d-link gigabit switch isnt 100% compatible with netgear router (it works fine with linksys wrt54g and buffalo router).

I bought Zyxel 5-port gigabit switch and everyting is OK now!
