The TODO file for the new driver says that the AP feature has not yet been added, so even if this driver does support the WNR3500L chipset it appears you're out of luck, at least for the time being.

Reportedly, Broadcom just released open source Linux drivers for (some of?) their chips: http://www.osnews.com/story/23786/BREAKING_BROADCOM_OPEN_SOURCES_WIRELESS_DRI...
What I'm interested in, does the release include support for the chipset on the WNR3500L, sufficient for proper access point usage, or does it at least bring such a goal closer?
I've been holding out on an AP upgrade, waiting for a solution with a free Linux driver, and the 3500L with its gigabit switch and USB expandability would certainly go on my shopping and recommendation list if this pans out well.
Thanks for any information!
Thanks; probably worth following, though, especially if it's considered a TODO.
