Just bought the WNR3500L because I got a real good deal on it at Best Buy, and it turns out I got a good product buy what I have read. So I have my router hooked up to my desktop PC and my Xbox 360 wirelessly, everything works fine if I use one or the other, but when the Xbox is in use and some one uses the PC to surf the net or watch a Video at the same time the Xbox looses it connection. Is there any advice as to what I can do to help this issue, Im not against upgrading the router if that will help.

Thanks in advance.

Install DDWRT. This should fix some problems. Be careful though.

I'm new to this game and dont fully understand the different upgrade options, if someone could explain in layman's terms how ddwrt could help me, that would be great.
