Opewrt community provides a good documentation for compiling the distribution.You will find this in the link below....

But I couldn't understand which pathches you are talking about?
Do you want to compile backfire 10.3 for wnr3500l?

Hello,
Yes, i want to compile openwrt for WNR3500L

But there are no patches for backfire or trunk pnly for kamikaze

openwrt ticket here

any one know run this command, dd if=/dev/mtdblock/2 of=m2.img
what's the format about m2.img? how to extract files from it?
this block device /dev/mtdblock/2 is be mount as rootfs, the file system is: squashfs

@OP try a git download as it seems to be much more updated that the svn download version.
Getting the 3500L to work with openwrt might be a mission in itself.

@benson, what you want is the "rebuild the firmware guide" , make change and re-bundle into image.
