Sorry, I do not understand what do you mean by random disconnect. Could you please elaborate your set up and which side (LAN or WAN) this disconnection happens ?
With my original netgear firmware (I have a Netgear WNR3500L/U/v2), I've been getting random disconnect and I tried alot of things to fix it, but none work. Then I found about this tomato firmware and give it a try. Even with the tomato firmware, I still get random disconnect. Whats the deal?
Im using this tomato firmware:
Tomato Firmware with USB (Compatible with NETGEAR WNR3500L) 1.27.9047 BETA 16
On random occasion, even though according to my WAN, it still have the IP address, I will suddenly have no internet accesses.
Is your machine connected to WNR3500L through wireless medium ? If so then please try with wired medium.
Its connect to a wired medium. When I do lose internet, everybody who is connected to the router loses it as well.
Is it connected automatically or do you need to reboot the router manually ?
During that disconnected period are you able to access the LAN port of the router ? For example are you able to access the Web UI of the router ?
In most cases, It will reconnect automatically. The time it takes to reconnect varies. During the time of being disconnected, I can still access my router.
I am having this same issue but i have to restart the router to get it to reconnect, I also have a netgear wireless pci card but it also did the same thing on my old pc wireless
Anyone know anything about this issue seems to be a common problem yet theres no fix for it?

im actually running the original software that came with the router havent tried anything yet, but this may fix my problem?
I have had the same issue just yesterday with my WNR3500L router. I am trying to troubleshoot this issue, without any good results.
If you find any positive results, I would love to know the solution.
