Are you able to ping 192.168.1.1 while you are getting IP automatically. If not, check if your pc is getting IP automatically or not.
Hello!
I'm new here, so dont bash me senseless! With that said...
I updated(flashed) my router Netgear WNR3500L with the recent Kong mod.
DD-WRT Kong Mod USB/FTP/SAMBA3/OpenVPN/Proxy Build 17356
I did it in these steps:
- Set the IP to static 192.168.1.8 on the PC.
- Connected the PC to the router (unplugged everything else)
- Perform a 30-30-30 Reset on the router.
- In Internet Explorer, went to http://192.168.1.1
- Cancelled the router’s automatic firmware update checking, then clicked on “Router Upgrade” in the menu at left.
- Upload the "special" .chk firmware file listed on http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Netgear_WNR3500L for being able to install through *.bin files.
- Wait 5 minutes after the router says it is done
- Perform another 30-30-30 reset.
- Repeated steps 4-7 with Kongs dd-wrt-usb-ftp-samba3-vpn-O2-v24-K26-broadcom.bin firmware file.
- Login and start tweaking
Problem
The installation worked flawlessly, however when I set back my Static IP into Automatic I can no longer access the web gui, throgh 192.168.1.1. It does however work perfectly if I set my IP back to static 192.168.1.x.
