Why shouln't we trust Kong? He have post builds for a long time without any issue, MANY user use his builds. If you don't trust him use wendors standard builds. I'm glad he make builds as dd-wrt seems ded or waiting for something.

this has nothing todo with trusting kong it strikes me as very odd that he would have someone tell us in-his place instead of telling us him self

He didn't have someone tell us. Someone (Blujay) just wrote what he says Kong told him. So you are right to question someone else's hearsay post.
But Kong did reply directly after the post and did not say the info above was incorrect.

Hi OneMoar,
BlueJay sent me a private message in which he asked where to look for the latest builds, since I now create builds for routers that are not advertised here, I have decided to put all of my builds on a server I maintain and from time to time update the builds on myopenrouter that are specific for the wnr3500l.
So I told him that he can always check at my location for new builds.
If you check earlier announcements and the download locations they have been pointing there already, but with direct links to the specific .bin
