Here is a new build based on dd-wrt 17940.
Please Read: http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/23842/DD-WRT-Kong-Mod-Info/
New:
OPKG Info:
Until I decided if I include my optware repository as default optware source, the default source for optware packages is openwrt snapshots.
Some openwrt packages however may fail due to incompatibilities in network interface description structures. This would be fixed in case I openup my repository with packages that were built with dd-wrt toolchain.
Note: This build comes with a new wireless driver which I have tested for 2days. Since I didn't experience any signal dropping issues, it will be shipped in all builds, no need for old driver releases. Therefore I changed the labels for the builds. See the Readme inside download dir.

Flashed also. It did not mount /opt automatically.
All drive mounts were to the dreaded /tmp/mnt/disc0-part1...4 and disc1-part1
The first drive has labels (Optware, Swap, Data and JFFS) none of these got picked up on the initial auto-mount.
Once I mannually unmounted /tmp/mnt/disc0-part1 and remounted it as /opt , the Optware scripts kicked in and the autorestore script (S00factdefault) worked and restored my settings.
Did anther reboot and all seems well... will keep you posted.
One curious thing is that Mypage is not working. Maybe I just need to re-install it.
Thanks for the new build Kong.
One thing strange that I noticed on the new build is that the wireless driver version still shows the old revision from July. I did not reset my NVRAM when I did the update so I am wondering if this was the reason for the old driver date being shown. Can someone else running the King Kong build confirm?

Ok I'm correcting this, the core module for the driver is still on 5.100.127, but the kernel wrapper modules have been updated. So parts of the driver have been updated to the latest revision.
@Kong:
What is your opinion about enabling 2.4Ghz interference mitigation on this new build?
I ask because I saw a post at our neighbors' dd-wrt forum, in the Fractal builds thread. The post said that interference mitigation is not enabled on the latest builds and it recommended putting the following on your startup script because the manual setting does not survive reboots.
while [ 1 ]; do wl -i eth1 interference 2; sleep 30; done &
I know this latest build you published does not have it enabled by default, so my question to you is, should we enable it? do you think it will improve signal quality and/or stability?
I'd say test it and if it does improve signal quality we can enable it by default.
I didn't see any difference when I tested this, maybe because there are no other routers at my location:-)
By the way... WiViz is not working. I can see other routers on inSSIDer but they do not show up on WiViz.
I have an Asus RT-N16, run Tomato firmware. Optware + Transmission installed on usb stick (4GB), and torrents downloaded on a HDD LaCie (1TB) mounted on CIFS.
I'm thinking to upgrade to dd-wrt kong mode, r17940-usb-ftp-samba3-vpn-nv32k-broadcom.
I read the article about how to install Optware on "Ric’s Tips & Tricks" page and i have a question:
It is possible to install minimal optware and transmission in JFFS (i mean the rest of the router's flash without usb stick). The space available on my flash is 24MB (with tomato) and the space used by optware+transmission on my stick now is about 13MB.
I want to discard my stick and install optware+transmission on jffs.
Thanks
I have WNR3500L-RTN16-WRT610V1V2-usb-ftp-samba3-dlna.bin
The file naming is different in the new build.
Which one goes into the WNR3500L?
Thank you.
@Csimbi
In the "README" file you're find the explanation.
For you is "r17940-usb-ftp-samba3-dlna-nv32k-broadcom.bin"
I installed r17940-usb-ftp-samba3-dlna-nv32k-broadcom on my WNR3500L with an NG Mixed configuration. Bandwidth has been a solid 54 Mbps previously, within 2 hours the speed had degraded to 11Mbps with no other configuration changes. I reverted to stdkong (revision 17865M).
Not sure I trust the new driver on the old hardware just yet...
@Kong:
This may be a dumb question... but how do you use opkg. Here is what I got when I did opkg update.
root@ROUTER:/# opkg update
-bash: opkg: command not found
Where is the opkg executable at? I looked in usr/bin, usr/sbin and /sbin and did not find it.
@zoomlink, shiiiiit, you are right. I forgot to enable it in my other builds, it is currently only included in the minidlna build.
@Kong,
lol, no worries, it happens in the best of families.
I just wanted to make sure I was not loosing my mind.
Kong - I am sure you have nothing better to do... so please upload this weekend's build early would you? lol just messing with you.
Want to take Opkg out for a test drive.
Can anyone give advice on how to enable php_zip support in Optware?
I'm trying to get 'Owncloud' a dropbox like service to run on my RT-N16. Almost there but need zip support in php. In theory it's easy just add the line
'extension=zip.so' in php.ini but the problem is that this module is not included in OTRW. Does anyone know how to get it??
@Kong: Since you've been working on the Optware packages any chance of getting a php-upgrade with this extension included?
Hi Kong I am having slowdowns and I can't fix it I am getting 9-12mbps instead of 18-20, how can i fix this?
Hobe said: Hi Kong I am having slowdowns and I can't fix it I am getting 9-12mbps instead of 18-20, how can i fix this?The solution for my netgear WNR3500L was to flash tomato, but then I the same issue after about a month of use. The final solution was put latest stock firmware back on, and now I get great wireless speeds. I just got 29Mbps over wireless on this same router this morning.
Hi,
Has this release a QoS GUI script already working?
I'm coming again from 15505M Eko, since most of the later releases have the QoS broken.
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
It seems to me that this release (kingkong) has a problem with my OpenVPN config. I can't connect even through LAN...
"management localhost 5001

proto tcp
port 443
dev tap0
server-bridge 192.168.200.1 255.255.0.0 192.168.200.10 192.168.200.20

dh /tmp/openvpn/dh.pem
ca /tmp/openvpn/ca.crt
cert /tmp/openvpn/cert.pem
key /tmp/openvpn/key.pem "
Startup commands:
"openvpn --mktun --dev tap0
brctl addif br0 tap0
ifconfig tap0 0.0.0.0 promisc up"
Firewall commands:
"iptables -A INPUT -i tap0 -j ACCEPT
iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 443 -j ACCEPT"
On client side:
"TCP: connect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:443 failed, will try again in 5 seconds: Connection refused (WSAECONNREFUSED)"
No error messages on syslog.
I'm using this config since I remember and even with 17460M kongmod release.
Thank you in advance.
Finally, I managed how to put openvpn fully working with this release.
I have to do two default resets and then configure it entirely through GUI boxes, instead using a config on the older "configuration box".
There is no need to add "startup" and "firewall" commands anymore.
It's more simple but there is very little information about this change on openvpn setup. It a shame but isnt a fault of Kong. ;)
Great job on this release. ;)
I'll spend some more hours configuring QoS on it. (Pain in the *ss!)
Thank you in advance.
@ReDaLeRt
Here you can see what toastman have Qos setting by deffaulr, that maby can help you:

@kt_haddock
Thanks. I know how to configure QoS. The only issue is the massive setup on my network that need QoS. :-/
For those who want to know how to setup OpenVPN properly, check this: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=652762#652762
Thanks!
Kong, I'm afraid the wifi driver on kingkong 17940M is also faulty. The signal does not drop a lot (until now) but the speed drops hugely. I'm getting a (floating) 78/104mbps link at about 1.5 meters from the router. I get full speed (144mbps) every day on this conditions with 15508M Eko.
I'm afraid that is about the radio signal output stability. Check this (mine is the grey one):
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk265/ReDaLeRt_C4W/40fc2e4e.png
It has a spread higher than 10 dB, and it's more weak (I usually get an almost flat reception at -31/-34 dB).
Can you compile a "kingkong" with the old driver, please?
Thanks.
PS: Also running tests with Samba3, I get almost -26% of thoughtput (-1MB/s) on bandwidth.
