You need to recompile the source code of WNDR3800 with "USB 3G modem" support enabled. I think in the de facto configuration this support is not present.

Does anybody know how can I use 3G modem with WNDR 3800?
As far as I know current official firmware doesn't support such ones:
Do NOT connect computers, USB modems, CD or DVD drives to the router’s USB port.
Any solutions or ideas?
I would be much obliged to you!
Thank you!
Buy a refurbished Cradlepoint CTR35 for under $40 it's got cruddy WiFi-G, that the Marketing people like to call Wireless N, but that's not why you get it, it makes a nice $40 USB adapter for a wired network :)
Just plus a cable between the CTR35 and the WNDR3800's wan port, and your good.
P.D.

Thanks for the tip of CTR35. I've found someone for 28 $ aprox.
Have a nice day :D

When I wrote that, the WNDR3800 had very minimal support under DD-WRT or OpenWRT.
Now I might suggest looking at installing an alterenate firmware with USB3G/4G support.
But depending on your comfort level, the less then $40 for a referb CTR-35 may be worth it.
I still use my CTR-35, instead of the WNDR3800's USB and a FOSS Firmware distribution, because the CTR-35 provides me a backup connection if I mess-up the WNDR-3800 while playing with alternate firmwares and stuff.
Glad I could help.
PD.
