I am working on freeradius server. I want to use Netgear WNR3500L as a
access point. According to my academic project i need to do some changes
in access point kernel. Changes like at radius and eap protocol. So i
choose kamikaze and port in access point. Its working fine.
But now my question is..
Is there any other firmware like backfire, is compatible with Netgear
WNR3500L? If not that tell me about kamikaze.

I searched and found this access point is not much open source. What it
means.

Backfire is not compatible with WNR3500L. You can use DD-WRT for WNR3500L.

Is DD-wrt  fully open source. What about kamikaze?

What are the difference in Kamikaze and back fire?

DD-WRT is fully open source and I think DD-WRT would be better choice than Kamikaze in case WNR3500L.
Kamikaze and backfire refer to different version of trunk. Backfire is the latest one.

In kamikaze when i am connecting access point with WPA(RADIUS) with all parameter Like IP address, port and password of radius server. But its not working. Please guide. Is there any problem with that.
