Hi Guys,

Just wondering a question if I can on Tomato, I've had and been running dd-wrt on an old linksys router and it was 1st class.

I then decided to upgrade to the Netgear WNR3500L as I needed the 10/100/1000 speed with a network upgrade here at home.

I did have DD-WRT on it a few weeks ago and then decided to flash it back to stock.

(I'd read a few reports that the orginal netgear firmware had better bandwidth and not as many spikes/drops etc.)

I have created a VPN from work to home using OpenSSH but that's sitting on an old XP machine, a pentium 1, and because of all the encryption and the like then it's a little slow at work when browsing, (but the data is secure!)

So I'd like to flash "tomato" as I've never used it and have read that it's the best for setting up a VPN with putty.

Any comments at all please?

by reading the tut it would seem that you can go from stock straight to CFW.

I'd also read that you need to flash the small build of DD-WRT before upgrading to TOMATO....

Thanks
