I've got a VOIP RT31P2 Linksys that is the gateway at 192.168.15.1, just as it was sent to me by the VOIP provider. I've set up a WRT54GS, running DD-WRT, behind it, which is working as a wireless AP. At some point during this setup I was able to connect to the gateway through the wireless router to change settings without having to plug the Ethernet directly into the gateway. Although everything is working, otherwise, I have lost that ability. When I connect Firefox to 10.10.15.1, I see the setup page on the wireless DD-WRT, when I try to connect to the gateway at 192.168.15.1 I get "page cannot be displayed". When I ping 192.168.15.1 it's there in all it's glory. Am I correct that this isn't a RT31P2 gateway problem? I've got my firewall in the Vista computer off, as usual. What info do I need to provide to the forum to make this situation clear? What might I have missed? Thanks. Bill

I have Tomato v1.11 on my WGR614v8 router. I have a client interested in using access control to limit some workstations to around 50 approved websites and it looks like the access rules will work better than in Tomato which appears you can only add sites to deny access to. Should I reset the router back to the default Netgear firmware, then to DD-WRT to be safe?

I had to purchase the netgear router because it support PPPoE, no problem, most due. Here where the problem because. I can connect to my ISP and I get my WAN ip, and I can get out, because NAT'ing is turn on, but I can't get in. I can't ping my GATE. No If I turn NAT'ing off I can't get in or out. Problem Let me explain a bit about my network, I hope this helps and doesn't confuse everyone. I will change the ip's for safety reason. But you should be able to follow along.

Ok i tried to update my router to the newest dd-wrt. I am stuck at a certain point though. I went through all the steps(i do not have a serial cord) using erase_mtd way of doing it. Now i am at the point where i must tftp the dd-wrt to the router, but i keep getting the cannot find host error. I have setup the ip on my computer to ip:192.168.1.1xx subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 192.168.1.1 Preferred DNS: 192.168.1.1 I have tried this multiple times, but yet i am still unable to ping my router. I have the router plugged in the lan port 1. I have tried using other ports too. I also have 2 lan ports on my computer. I have tried using both of them switching back and forth but no luck. Do i have have something setup wrong? When i have the router plugged in the power light is blinking so im assuming its in tftp mode. I dont know what i am doing wrong. I have tried to ping the router also, but get no response. Thanks for any help

I downloaded DD-WRT v24 mini (c) 2008 from this site and installed on my WGR614v8 and have had serious problems with it. Now, I want to get rid of this load and go back to the Netgear factory load, but the upgrade gui will not accept a CHK file - it appears to be seeking a bin file. How do I get this thing fixed? I'm looking all over this site for a doc on how to TFTP to the router, but am coming up dry.

Otherwise the results are unpredictable and you could get many errors. Fox already noted that. Console user/password is root/admin (the dd-wrt default). You will be asked to set web user name and password on first login.

First, I've gotten DD-WRT on the router. That isn't the problem. The problem I do have is that as soon as I change any settings via the Web GUI it doesn't work anymore. It starts to behave erratically, and eventually my connections to the router and out to the internet stop working. I've been following the threads at the DD-WRT forums about this router and it looks like it really isn't ready for prime time. So, I've decided to try going back to the Netgear firmware for now. Unfortunately, in DD-WRT web gui, every time I try to apply another firmware, I now get an error that says, "Incorrect Image File." I am really frustrated and I would appreciate any help I can get just getting this thing working for now. It doesn't seem like there's much traffic on these boards some I'm really hoping someone here can help me out.

Hi, Just bought a WGR614L router and got DD-WRT running just fine on it. I noticed that the standard WGR614L DD-WRT firmware available is the 'mini' version, which does not include all the packages I'd like to use -- mainly, I want OpenVPN support. I've been reading through how to use the ipkg utility to install other OpenWRT packages, but after enabling JFFS2 and cleaning the volume, I get "cannot create directory /jffs2/usr: Input/Output Error" when trying to update the packages, even though I have 700k showing as free. Does anyone know how to install OpenWRT packages with ipkg on the WGR614L, or alternately, does anyone know if the newest v24 "VPN" version DD-WRT for Broadcom chipsets will work on this model router? Thanks in advance for any info...

The button on the back of the WRT614L that resets it with the default Netgear firmware doesn't seem to work with DD-WRT. Is there a trick to it, or does anyone have any other ideas for wresting back control of my router?
