DD-WRT Kong Mod Updated for NETGEAR X10 R9000 (2017-08-09)

In case you didn't know, and happen to be an owner of a finely crafted NETGEAR R9000, Kong's got a dynamite DD-WRT build available. This was just updated and is the latest release since 2017-June.

This howto covers setting up an OpenVPN Server for access to your home network as if you were local. It's an excellent alternative to opening a bunch of ports in your firewall and exposing poorly secured programs to the world wide web.

Here's the overview:

  1. install OpenVPN on laptop to generate keys for server and a few clients
  2. configure dd-wrt router
  3. configure clients

- *.bin files can only be flashed from dd-wrt webif.
- *.chk can be flashed from Netgear factory fw and from dd-wrt webif

- I don't provide factory to dd-wrt for non Netgear models
  since I do not own any non Netgear Broadcom units
