Hi ,

I have downloaded the tomato firmware from this site and I have compiled it following the instructions mentioned into the blog. However when I run this compiled image I have found that the wireless module is not working. I searched for the available APs from a wireless client but unable to find any AP with SSID "wireless". Can anybody please look into this issue?

I am using WGR614L router with its own firmware. Wireless is working fine. So problem is not in the hardware. May be the problem is in Tomato firmware which you are using.

Yes, this is a bug in the Tomato firmware. Wireless module does not work in this firmware.  We are working on it and will upload the modified firmware once we fixed this issue.

the tomato firmware has some issue regarding the wireless module - it does not work by default. But there is a tricks to make it works. Actually I have been able to make it work at my side. Do the following,

1.  Install the original Netgear firmware. Open the configuration page. Set WAN IP - I maean configure the WAN side. Save the settings.

2. Now install the tomato firmware. The wireless interface will be up - The SSID will be 'NETGEAR' when the Tomato fimware will boots up.

You can try this way to use wifi in Tomato firmware. As I have said earlier we are now working on this issue and will update the firmware once we fixed it.

BTW a new version of Tomato is available in this site. This problem has been fixed in this release. However there is some other issues, but I would request you to try this new release.
