I everyone, not sure if I'm posting in the right place. I just got this modem from the cable company (Charter) today, and I want to load the DDWRT firmware to it. I'm having trouble finding it listed anywhere other than on the netgear website. Does anyone know if I can put an open source firmware on it?

Yea since i got the same modem from my cable company also charter i havent been able to play any Steam (counter strike source) games and i have the ports needed forwarded on it also and it still wont let me play anything
Think I'm going to exchange it for a regular cable modem so I can use my dd-wrt linksys v-2 router... Netgear sucks ass!!!
I have had the same problem i have searched everywhere even the netgear site the only thing i have found is that the firmware can not be found unless you contact carter and when i contacted charter they told me there is nothing they can do for me. I wish isp's would learn most people are getting highspeed internet for gaming so why not give people routers that are able to connect to them. If anyone finds a solution i would love to hear it.
If you go into your routers page using an internet browser by typing 192.168.0.1. into the browser then log on as superuser for name and password for password then click on services and turn the firewall off it should make steam work
If you still have the Netgear from Charter, log into it's internals using 192.168.0.1, username: superuser password: password , click on Services, uncheck firewall features, and then click apply. This should resolve any issues you may be experiencing with PC games or any gaming consoles, as it remoevs all preconfigured port rules.
Im confused, I have a Netgear modem, and I have wi-fi in my home, is there a way to use this in order to get internet on my desktop computer? There has to be some way!!
