The router is still not

The router is still not available in any web shop. Some shops list it with a delivery period of one to two weeks (since weeks). I've ordered the router at computeruniverse 10 days ago. It was listed with a delivery period of 7 - 14 days. Now it's listed there as "delivery time unknown".

What's going up here? I already tried to call Netgear Germany but always just a mailbox and no call back if you speak them on their mailbox.

Netgear: I'm being hacked off!

I've just cancelled my order

I've just cancelled my order after 6 weeks of waiting - Netgear must be kidding to let us wait so long for an item already announced in February.
I'll wait for a truly open and more powerful router that combines the 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz streams.

Incredible. Now it seems that the router is available beginning of december. The status about the availability changed to december the 2nd at computeruniverse and a few other shops.

I have also been waiting for

I have also been waiting for mine (ordered through D&H) for over a month. None of their distribution centers have received product. I check on the status several times a week if not daily. Their estimated delivery time just keeps moving out further and talking to someone on the phone gave the same results. I'll post back if/when I receive mine.

This is crazy, its been like over 2-3 months. Why are they over hyping and reviewing products people cannot even buy?

I have to concur with most of

I have to concur with most of the posts here. I was really excited about the prospect of purchasing one of these in October. Now I'm not so sure. What are they waiting for? If the press has been able to get their hands on demo units so long ago this should have been availible by now for sure. It's not like they need to perfect the firmware on it or anything since it's designed to have the user replace the FW. What's up Netgear? Did you guys setup this forum just so we can mock your incompetence...

Best Buy and Walmart now carries this router in most stores and on their sites. (The WNR3500L directly replaces the WNR3500-100NAS, so it could very well be that e-tailers have not updated their pages and docs to match; Walmart.com now offers Site-to-Store on all Netgear routers.)

link please

I've not been able to find any ad or picture to show that the WNR3500-100NAS has a USB port. Can you supply any mention of this? Your link mentioned above (spec sheet) makes no mention of a USB port on the WNR3500-100NAS (but its also a link to the WNR3500, not the WNR3500-100NAS so I don't see how this would support your information that the WNR3500-100NAS has a USB port.

I see you point about having

I see you point about having NAS at the end of the model but I see no other indication that it has a USB port. I think it's a pretty good thing that it does not if Netgear (all the retailer's descriptions) don't mention this. Its a pretty big addition that I doubt they are going to forget the mention.

Also, Netgear is still advertizing the WRN3500 and I see no mention of the WNR3500-100NAS.

But I certainly see you point, thay every retailer selling the "WNR-3500" is listing the model at "WNR3500-100NAS". Also that the suffix of "NAS" should indicate it has a USB port. Agreed.... someone appears to be playing with the NAS suffix.

I am what you would call a

I am what you would call a disgruntled customer.

I actually bought this router after having promised myself that I would never touch netgear products again after the sc101 piece of crap NAS storage fiasco.
The WNR3500L ran dd-wrt glady, for 8 days.

It completely bricked itself when it tried rebooting.

Knowing I had a brick, I came to this website looking for clues.
There was a wonderful guide for using the TTL/USB cable to actually debrick
this crap router. But alas, the router in the guide had TTL pins on the board, mine did not...

I have no idea why Netgear manufactures some WNR3500L routers with TTL pins and some without TTL pins.., It's as if they just want to get under your nerves!

Final thoughts: don't buy this product.

Hi,

Hi,

is the light flashing? Or is it simply not booting? If the light is not flashing the router isn't bricked. You can do a 30-30-30 reset.

In the end the beta of dd-wrt which you'll find in the router database of dd-wrt is unstable and doesn't really work. My router didn't booted up after enabling SSHD.

Was this router pulled from retail? I can't find it available anywhere. Newegg, Fry's, Dell, all show backordered or not available. What's going on? When will it become widely available?
