I have a Netgear router attached to my cable modem that connects my laptop wirelessly to the internet. I have a desktop with no network card. To access the internet with the desktop I have to unplug the router and connect the desktop to the cable modem. I cannot access the internet from my laptop at the same time. Is there a configutation that will allow me to connect both at the same time? Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using the USB to connect your desktop to your modem then no. You need a Network card. If you don't need anything special you can get them for under $10.00
