dd-wrt.v24-13000_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-WNR3500L: How's your experience?

Hello guys,

I hope my WNR3500L will ship soon.  Maybe you have some positive feedback before I flash mine.

Have you bricked your router or was the flash successfull? How well does this build work.

Thanks Peter for upping all these articles, reviews, howtos and firmware downloads.

You're welcome, it was a

You're welcome, it was a pleasure putting it all together!

So far, my experience with this build of DD-WRT for the WNR3500L has been very positive. Flashing occurred with no problems and it has been running, stable, with WPA2 encryption, for several days now and no issues.

I have yet to test some of the more advanced features, such as the USB NAS functionality and other things, but they have been reported to work.

When can we expect a DD-WRT

When can we expect a DD-WRT with NTFS support already build in?
This was 1 of my main reasons to buy this 3500L together with being able to have more functionality as the factory firmware on a Wireless N router.

TTT,

TTT,
Since DD-WRT is a free firmware created by people that are doing it just for fun, unfortunately there is nothing we should expect them to do.
In fact there are some pretty heated discussions about it here.
http://ftp.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=63657&postdays=0&postorder=...

The last post, by EKO, who creates most of what everyone is running here says... "Guys... wipe the milk around your lips and grow up.... it's life... and if you want something, you have to do it yourself."

Sounds like he is a little fed up right now. :)

You may want to check out the Paragon firmware, see Partners tab above, maybe that will do what you need.

I think it´s quite stupid to

I think it´s quite stupid to buy a linux router and use a non native filesystem. Maybe ntfs-3g is reengineered quite well but it may have issues. Second thing are the Broadcom binary modules. The community hasn´t much options to support these routers.

That´s why I have bought a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND.  The free driver ath9k is quite good but e. g. site survey doesn´t work but it can be worked on it.
